Give New Seed the Best Possible Start
Most grass seed fails because the soil is not ready. You scatter the seed, water it faithfully, and watch half of it never germinate. The problem is not your seed—it is your soil. This pre-seed formula prepares the ground with exactly what new grass needs: high phosphorus for explosive root development and essential nutrients that turn patchy failures into thick, established lawns.
Why Pre-Seed Feed Matters
No weed killer. By design. Unlike our seasonal treatments, this formula contains zero herbicide. Why? Because weed killer does not distinguish between weeds and baby grass—it kills both. Pre-Seed Foundation Feed is specifically formulated to be safe for germinating seeds while giving them the nutritional head start they need.
What You’ll See
Day 1-7: Soil is primed and ready for seeding.
Week 1-3: Faster germination rates. Seedlings emerge stronger.
Week 3-6: Noticeably thicker establishment. Roots develop deep and fast.
Week 6+: New grass that actually survives—dense, green, and ready for its first mow.
How to Use
Apply before or with your seed. Scatter the granules evenly across prepared soil—roughly a handful per square metre. You can apply the same day as seeding or up to a week before. Water in well and keep the soil moist for germination. Works year-round whenever you are seeding.
Perfect For
New lawn creation from scratch, overseeding thin or patchy areas, repairing bare patches and worn spots, autumn or spring lawn renovation, and anyone who has tried seeding before and watched it fail.

Frequently Asked Questions
How fast is delivery?
We dispatch all orders within 1-2 working days. Most orders arrive within 3-5 days. Free UK delivery on all orders.
When can I use this?
Any time you are seeding—spring, summer, or autumn. Avoid seeding in winter when the ground is frozen, but the feed itself can be applied year-round.
Do I apply before or after seeding?
Either works. You can apply up to a week before seeding to prepare the soil, or scatter it at the same time as your seed. Both methods work well.
Will this kill my new grass?
No—that is the whole point. Unlike our seasonal lawn treatments, Pre-Seed Foundation Feed contains no weed killer whatsoever. It is specifically designed to be 100% safe for germinating seeds and new seedlings.
How is this different from regular lawn feed?
Regular lawn treatments contain weed killer that would harm or kill new grass seedlings. This formula has high phosphorus for root development and zero herbicide, making it safe for new seed.
Can I use this on new turf as well as seed?
Yes—apply before laying turf to give the roots the best start, or water in lightly after laying. The phosphorus boost helps turf establish faster.
Do I need special equipment?
No. Just shake the granules from the bag by hand. No spreader needed.
How much do I need?
Apply at roughly 35g per m². Each bag states its coverage. Match your coverage to the area you are seeding.
Can I use this with any grass seed?
Yes—it works with all grass seed varieties including our own range. The nutrients benefit any type of grass.
How long after applying can I seed?
Immediately, or up to a week later. There is no waiting period because there is no weed killer to dissipate.
What if I already applied a weed treatment?
Wait 4 weeks after applying any product containing weed killer before seeding. The Pre-Seed Feed itself can be applied any time.
Do you offer a guarantee?
Yes. If you are not satisfied after following the instructions, contact us within 60 days and we will make it right or give you a full refund.
Worried it will kill your new grass?
It will not. Pre-Seed Foundation Feed contains zero weed killer—by design. It is pure nutrition for your soil and seedlings. Use it the same day you seed, or a week before. Your new grass will thank you with faster germination, stronger roots, and thicker establishment. And if it does not work? Full refund, no questions asked.
