Prepare Your Lawn for Battle
Winter is coming. Your lawn has taken a beating over summer—worn patches, lingering weeds, and stress damage everywhere. Autumn is your last chance to fix it. This formula repairs summer damage, kills off weeds and moss before they settle in for winter, and builds root strength so your grass survives whatever the cold months throw at it.
Why Autumn Treatment Matters
This is the most important feed of the year. Autumn is when your lawn builds the root system that carries it through winter. Feed it now with the right nutrients—high potassium and phosphorus for root development—and you will have a lawn that bounces back fast in spring. Skip it, and you are starting next year on the back foot.
What You’ll See
Week 1-2: Moss blackens and dies. Grass colour deepens.
Week 2-4: Weeds yellow and die back. Lawn thickens as roots strengthen.
Week 4-8: A dense, resilient lawn ready to face frost, rain, and snow.
How to Use
Just shake it on. Mow your lawn first if needed, then scatter the granules evenly—roughly a handful per square metre. Water in thoroughly or apply before rain. Best applied September to November before the ground freezes.
Perfect For
Lawns recovering from summer stress, gardens with moss problems heading into winter, anyone who wants a head start on spring, worn and patchy lawns that need thickening, and lawns that struggled through last winter.

I did not get this down until late October and I think I missed the best window. The moss killing worked fine but the weed killing was slow in the cold weather. Some weeds are still hanging on in December. Should have applied in September as recommended. The product is good just get it down early.
Our lawn had been neglected for several years and was more weed than grass. The autumn treatment killed the weeds and moss effectively but there was not enough grass left to fill all the gaps. Ended up needing seed as well. The treatment did its job but very neglected lawns need more than just feed and weed.
I can actually feel the difference when I walk on the lawn. The grass feels more firmly rooted and springy compared to previous autumns. The high potassium formula clearly does its job building root strength. The lawn came through the first frosts without any damage at all. Very confident it will survive winter well.
Applied in September before the weather turned. The lawn built up strong thick growth before the cold arrived. Even after several hard frosts in November the grass is still green and healthy. Previous winters it would be yellow and patchy by now. The autumn feed has clearly made a massive difference to winter resilience.
Applied this in mid-September after a tough summer. By November the lawn was thick dense and a deep green. The moss that had crept in over summer was dead within days. Going into December the lawn looks better than it did in June which seems mad but there you go. Best autumn treatment I have used.
The initial moss kill was impressive and the lawn feeding was excellent. However some moss has started creeping back in the shadiest corner after about six weeks. May need a follow up application or the winter treatment to keep it at bay. Rest of the lawn looks great though.
Did a full autumn renovation this year. Scarified in September then applied Good Grow a week later. The results are outstanding. The lawn has gone from thin and tired to thick and dense in about six weeks. The treatment killed the remaining moss and weeds while the feed gave the grass a serious boost. Best the lawn has ever looked.
A bit ironic but my lawn genuinely looks better now in November than it did in the middle of summer. The autumn treatment has thickened it up killed the weeds and given it a beautiful deep green colour. The summer stress is completely gone. Looking forward to seeing how it performs through winter and into spring.
Someone told me autumn is when the professionals feed their lawns and they were right. Applied Good Grow in early September and the lawn responded immediately. Thicker growth deeper colour and the moss just vanished. The lawn is now heading into winter in the best condition I have ever seen it. September feeding is the secret.
Had a persistent clover problem all summer that the summer treatment did not fully resolve. The autumn application finished it off completely. The buttercup is gone too. The lawn heading into winter is genuinely weed free for the first time in years. Very satisfied.
We had an early frost in October that usually turns the lawn yellow and sad looking. This year after applying the autumn treatment the lawn sailed through it. Still green still thick still looking healthy. The root strengthening formula clearly works. Very happy with the winter preparation.
The lawn was looking rough after the kids hammered it all summer. Bare patches worn areas and weeds everywhere. One application of Good Grow Autumn Treatment and within a month it had completely recovered. The bare patches filled in the weeds died and the grass thickened up. Going into winter looking great.
This is my third consecutive autumn using Good Grow and the cumulative effect is remarkable. The lawn is now the thickest and greenest it has ever been. Each year the moss and weed problems reduce because the grass is so strong and dense they cannot get established. Annual autumn treatment is the secret to a great lawn.
Applied slightly too much in one area and the grass went very dark green almost black looking for a couple of weeks. It recovered fine but it was a reminder to measure properly. Where I got the application rate right the results are excellent. Moss dead weeds dying grass thriving.
Applied the granules on a Sunday evening. Monday morning the moss was completely black. I have never seen anything work that fast. The rest of the lawn greened up over the following two weeks and the weeds started dying back. By mid-October the lawn was looking immaculate. Absolutely recommend for autumn.
We had a barbecue sitting on the lawn all summer and when we moved it in September there was a big yellow dead rectangle. Applied Good Grow to the whole lawn and within three weeks even the barbecue patch had recovered. The grass grew back thick and green where I thought it was completely dead.
Frequently Asked Questions
How fast is delivery?
We dispatch all orders within 1-2 working days. Most orders arrive within 3-5 days. Free UK delivery on all orders.
When should I apply autumn lawn treatment?
September to November is ideal, while the ground is still warm enough for root growth but before the first hard frosts. The earlier in autumn, the better.
Is it too late to apply in November?
Not necessarily. As long as the ground is not frozen and grass is still showing some growth, you will see benefit. The nutrients will remain in the soil ready for when growth resumes.
Will the weeds actually die this late in the year?
Yes—weeds are still actively growing in autumn and will absorb the weed killer. They may take longer to show visible damage in cooler weather, but they will die.
Can I overseed at the same time?
No—wait 4 weeks after applying this treatment before adding grass seed. The weed killer can affect germination. Use our Pre-Seed Foundation Feed instead if you are seeding.
Why is autumn the most important feed?
Autumn is when grass builds its root system for winter. Strong roots mean your lawn survives frost, waterlogging, and cold—and bounces back faster in spring.
Do I need special equipment?
No. Just shake the granules from the bag by hand. No spreader needed.
How much do I need?
Apply at roughly 35g per m². Each bag states its coverage. We recommend getting slightly more than you think for any stubborn patches.
Is it safe for pets and children?
Yes, once watered in and the lawn is dry. Keep children and pets off the treated area until then—usually a few hours after rain or watering.
How long until I see results?
Moss blackens within hours. Grass colour improves within 1-2 weeks. Weeds die within 2-4 weeks, though cooler temperatures may slow this slightly.
Should I still mow in autumn?
Yes, keep mowing until growth stops—usually around late October or November. Raise your mower height slightly for the last few cuts.
Do you offer a guarantee?
Yes. If you are not satisfied after following the instructions, contact us within 60 days and we will make it right or give you a full refund.
Wondering if there’s still time?
If the ground is not frozen, there is still time. Autumn is actually the ideal season to treat your lawn—the soil is warm, rain is plentiful, and your grass is building the roots it needs for winter. Act now and you will thank yourself in spring. And if it does not work? Full refund, no questions asked.
